Chris Landano
Born and raised in Queens, New York Chris, like most kids wanted to be a superhero.
In 2000, that dream came true when he was hired by the New York City fire department as an emergency medical technician. In April 2001, Chris was accepted into the FDNY’S forensics photo unit. Having studied art and photography at Queensborough Community College, Chris had the experience of developing film in the dark room which was part of their qualification process.
On September 11, 2001 Chris responded down to the World Trade Center. These images were shot by Chris Landano during the rescue and recovery efforts.
