Holocaust issues manifest themselves in foreign policy in many ways ranging from restitution and compensation for Holocaust survivors to international efforts to counter Holocaust distortion and denial. In commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27, 2023, U.S. Department of State Special Envoy Ellen Germain for Holocaust Issues talks about diplomatic efforts in these areas and how knowledge and understanding of the Holocaust informs current U.S. foreign policy.
