Date: May 5th, 2010
Duration: 24m:3s

David Rothman is an ESL specialist and a full-time faculty member in the Department of Basic Skills. He began his career as a writer composing poetry under birch trees, until one day a hummingbird on a branch overheard and whispered down, "Your verses are mediocre at best. Try fiction. You'll be much better at it." David recently won a short story prize from Glimmer Train for his piece, "Guided by Voices," which will be published later this year. He has also had short works of fiction published in the Nassau Review and The Prague Review. He is currently working on developing 'Guided by Voices' into a full-length novel.
