With the Lady Tigers looking ahead to their CUNY playoff game less than a week away, Region XV rival Nassau CC went into Bayside and blew out QCC 52-30.
Nassau scored the first four points of the game, with the Lady Tigers scoring the next five. Sabrina Rodriguez’s three pointer accounted for her only points of the first half, and it marked the last time Queensborough would lead. The Lady Lions went on a 16-2 run, including 11 points in a row to go up 20-7. Up by nine with several minutes to go before halftime, Nassau went on a 10-0 run to take a commanding 30-11 lead and put the game out of reach.
QCC could only get as close as 16 in the second half, and trailed by as many as 26, before scoring the last four points to making the final score 52-30.
