Queensborough pulled out a gritty, hard-fought 43-36 win over Hostos by outscoring them 30-14 in the second half. Hostos led 22-13 at halftime, as Queensborough’s Sabrina Rodriguez kept them in the game with three fast-break lay-ups, to somewhat offset a woeful halfcourt offense.
Hostos led 25-18 before the Lady Tigers came roaring back with a 21-2 run to take a surprising 39-27 lead. Ny’ Asia Irby’s lay-up tied the game at 25 and Keyanna Jean-Louis’ shot put QCC ahead for good.
