On Wednesday, October 2nd, the College will be hosting its annual New York State Community College Completion Day event in conjunction with other CUNY and SUNY colleges across the State of New York. The purpose of Completion Day is to encourage our student body to complete their Associate’s Degree prior to transferring to a four-year institution and explain to them how doing so affects their lives, their communities, and the nation. For this year’s event, which is sponsored by QCC’s Lambda Sigma Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, we invited several alumni to speak with our student body about their time spent at Queensborough, what they’ve been up to since graduating from the College, and how earning their associate’s degree had a positive impact on their lives.

At the event, students will be asked to sign a pledge and banner affirming their commitment to complete their degrees. Students can also submit their pledges online via our Completion Day webpage by clicking here. A small reception will follow the event in the Well Area outside of M-136 where information tables from various support services at the College will also be available to speak with students on how they can help them towards earning their degree as well as services they offer.

Please encourage your students to attend the event as it will be an informative one!
