The QCC Mock Trial Association: De Blasio vs. Lhota (Mock Mayoral Debate)

Just six days before the 2013 New York City Mayoral Election, Queensborough Community College students will assume the roles of the mayoral candidates and debate their final positions on such uses as stop-and-frisk, the quality of education in New York City, and improving job opportunities.

Students from the Mock Debate Team, Shirley Aguilar and Michelle Borukhov, will portray Democrat Bill de Blasio and Republican Joe Lhota, respectively. Other student participants include "moderators" and a panel of "journalists" who will ask the candidates questions.

"This event brings the election into the College and makes it come alive for our students," said Professor Ted Rosen, Department of Business and an Advisor/Coach for the Mock Trial Team.
