In The Thrust Towards The Future…I Want To Leave Something Of Use was inspired by reading Isabel Wilkerson's book, The Warmth of Other Suns, and listening to and reading James Baldwin. This is a non-linear work in progress to be completed in late 2014, which will bring together seven post-modern and neoclassical dancers, with elements of video and projections.

Malcolm Low would like to thank his dancers for the commitment to this project and special Thank You goes out to Riccardo Valentine. I also would like to thank Art Becofsky for his love and support through the making of this work - this is a true partnership. I would also like to thank Isabel Wilkerson for writing a book that touched me so profoundly that it sent me on a quest to deepen my knowledge about the history of African Americans in America.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the Department of Health, Physical Education, Dance, and Massage Therapy, The Queensborough Student Association, Dr. Isabella Lizzul, Dr. Young Kim, Barbara Bucholtz, Paul Weiss, and Elyn Feldman for all of your help, support, and collaboration!!!!
