No. 1 seed Queensborough Community College defeated No. 4 seed Bronx Community College, 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-9), to advance to the CUNYAC final, as the high-powered Tigers’ offensive attack was on display. Sophomore middle hitter Tiffany Garcia-Lawson led Queensborough with 12 kills, while freshman setter and three-time CUNYAC Rookie of the Week winner Amira Durkovic led both teams with 21 assists. CUNYAC Preseason Player of the Year Paige Hughes finished with six kills, two service aces and tied for the team-high with five digs.
As a team, the Tigers hit at a stellar .342 clip in the semifinal contest, which included an outstanding .556 mark with 15 kills and no errors in the closing set, in which QCC prevailed easily, 25-9.
